Yesterday, members of Commandery 239 gathered at St. Joseph Shrine, our commandery’s home, to assist with landscaping in preparation for the Shrine’s annual Oktoberfest celebration on September 21st. Three of our members—Ian, Jim, and Daniel—teamed up with three candidates from the Shrine to take on the task.

At the request of the canons, we spent the day planting trees and weeding areas of the church grounds. We’ll return this Wednesday at 6 PM EST to finish mulching around the new trees alongside the candidates.

These candidates are men discerning Holy Orders within the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest (ICKSP), a society of apostolic life of pontifical right. They will remain with us until July 2025, after which they will either return home or proceed to the ICKSP seminary in Italy to continue their formation.
