The Assumption of Mary is a joyous occasion for the Knights of Saint John across the world. Marking this solemnity is a time to celebrate the fulfillment of the promise made by Jesus to all his faithful servants and the redeeming power of Faith.
The Knights of Saint John is blessed as a diverse and devout Christian organization, which forms an integral part of our universal church’s rich heritage. As you observe this special solemnity, you are honoring values and traditions that strengthen our catholic Faith.
The Assumption of Mary is really a feast not only of Mary but also of all Christ’s people, because it speaks to a great and deep hope we share. We hope that we will live not just in the memory of others but also forever in glory.
The Assumption means that the conclusion of our time here on earth is not death, but life, eternal life. Like all beliefs about Mary, they illuminate our most treasured beliefs about her Son. The Assumption illustrates to us the truth about Christ’s promise of eternal life and the resurrection of the faithful.
May Mary our mother be our strength in Christ Our Lord.
